Are you ready to step into your destiny? Are you ready to make your dreams for your life reality? Are you ready to bring out your inner champion? If your answer is yes, then you should attend RADICAL Success Coach Doreen Rainey’s 2014 Get RADICAL Women’s Conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Reston, Va. from March 21 to March 23.
According to Rainey, the conference is more than an event, it is an experience that “draws women from all across the country who are really ready to step up, to step up to a new place in their business and their career and their personal life.”
Rainey is known in her coaching to help people push past the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary.
“The crux of what we do is help people to step back and really look at what are their authentic goals, what really resonates with them,” said Rainey. “I have people do kind of a gut check about what does success look like for them in their career, in their family, their finances, their relationships and then whatever that looks like, is that what they are creating now and then if not, then how can they begin to make changes so that they can then get on the path to that life that they truly want?”
The Get RADICAL Women’s Conference, which averages about 400 attendees per year, was launched in 2009. What started as coaching individuals and working with small groups grew into Rainey’s desire to create a platform that would send the radical message out on a larger scale which is why the conference was created.
“It brings people in so that they can hear the message not just from me but from other women who have experienced success but also have experienced the challenges and overcome some of the fear and the setbacks that it takes to actually get where they want to be,” said Rainey. “So this conference is to educate, inspire and motivate and to connect with other likeminded people, to connect with a network of people who can become business associates, who can become friends or who help them find other opportunities that may be available for them.”
The tickets which people must purchase to attend the conference, range from $249 to $645. It’s a three-day event with powerhouse speakers who were all personally invited by Rainey to speak at the conference.
“I look for women who resonate with what my message is about who have created something unique and extraordinary in their own lives and their own businesses and then can share the ups and downs of having made that happen,” said Rainey.
Speakers for this year’s event are: Laila Ali, the daughter of Muhammad Ali, who is according to Rainey, “a boxing champion, a phenomenal entrepreneur, a mom and a wife”. Ali is going to be talking about what it takes to create a championship life. Lori Greiner from ABC’s reality television series Shark Tank is also a speaker who will talk about how to take your ideas and put them into action, creating a reality around your idea. Jean Chatzky, the financial editor for the Today Show, will talk about money rules that women should follow and make a part of their daily living so that they cannot just build wealth but also build maturity and become financially secure. Teneshia Jackson Warner, a “phenomenal businesswoman” who owns a consulting company used to be an intern for Russell Simmons. She will speak about how women can be more aggressive, assertive and tenacious about getting what you want in your career.
“I’m hoping they will get their ‘Ah-ha’ moment which is when they recognize something in themselves reflective and it sets them into a new goal or it gives them a new direction or a new idea,” said Rainey when asked how she hopes women will benefit from attending this conference. “Beyond the ‘Ah-ha,’ I want them to get the information to be equipped to act on their new revelation.”
Radical Success Institute is the name of Rainey’s business. The reason the word “radical” was chosen is the result of the feedback she received during her coaching when she asked her clients if they can describe what their experience in working with her was like and the word ‘radical’ kept being used in response because in her coaching, Rainey encouraged her clients to do things that were “out of the ordinary” and “uncomfortable.” Radical Success Institute is operated from Rainey’s home in Bowie, Md.
Words by the famous late writer Henry David Thoreau resonate with Rainey and drive her passion for helping people achieve success. Those words, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them,” lead Rainey to believe that you’re never too old for your dream to come true, as long as you’re alive.
“Maybe it’s been 20 years and there’s been a strain in your relationship with your family, it’s not too late to go back and fix that,” said Rainey. “Maybe your finances are not where you want them to be, there’s still time to do that. The question is what song do you want to get out into the world now? I’d rather have you in action toward that than you thinking you’re too old or it’s too late. As long as you’re breathing then you’re not too old and it’s not too late.”
Believe it or not, there was a time in Rainey’s life when she was not successful.
“As an entrepreneur and in corporate America you get promoted, you don’t get promoted, you try out for a job and go out for a contract and you don’t get it, you have a deal, the deals fall apart. It’s part of life and I think that sometimes in this Facebook world that we live in right now, it appears that a lot of things are working for a lot of people but everybody has the other side of the coin,” said Rainey. “It doesn’t mean it’s catastrophic, doesn’t mean it’s devastating but we all have setbacks, we all have disappointments, we’ve all had what we would call failures and so that’s not unique. The question is, will you learn from it? How do you get up from it? And how do you move forward from it?”
People who cannot attend the conference in person have the option to attend virtually as the general sessions featuring the main speakers will be streamed online. Rainey said virtual attendees can use a discount code called VIRTUAL30 which will enable them to save $30 off of the normal online registration fee of $129. Registration closes March 20.
